Introducing <Level-Free Italian NoLBrick Workshop> at EXPO 2025 Osaka
We’re excited to present NoLBrick at this year’s EXPO in Osaka, Japan! Our team will lead two 60-minute Italian language workshops at the Multimedia and Multifunctional Space within the Italy Pavilion.
Dates and Times:
– Friday, May 9, 2025, at 15:00 (JST)
– Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 (JST)
The Workshop is designed to promote Italian language abroad and encourage intercultural dialogue between Italy and Japan. Open to all language levels, each session will make Italian accessible through engaging activities focused on vocabulary related to Italian art, craftsmanship, and culture.
Held in an interactive and inclusive setting, the workshops will take place alongside exhibitions showcasing Italy’s artistic and cultural legacy. Participants will explore the authentic materials around them, apply critical thinking, and enhance their Italian language skills with support from native-speaking facilitators. Additionally, participants will be introduced to Ca’ Foscari Jisho, one of the first free online Japanese-Italian dictionaries developed by Ca’ Foscari University.
The workshop is open to Italian language students in Japan and anyone interested in exploring Italian language and culture. Participants of all proficiency levels, including complete beginners, are welcome to join.
Spots are limited—don’t miss out! Register by Tuesday, April 22, 2025 via Google Form.

About the MICA Project
Make Italian Culture Alive (MICA) is a project funded by the Ministry of University and Research, bringing together five prestigious Italian universities for Expo 2025 Osaka. Taking place from May 6-10, 2025, at the Multimedia Conference Hall of the Italy Pavilion, MICA offers a unique opportunity to explore Italy’s artistic and cultural heritage through innovative and interactive methods.
Coordinated by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, the project is in collaboration with the University of Florence, the University of Naples L’Orientale, the State University of Milan, La Sapienza University of Rome, and with the participation of the CHANGES Foundation.
MICA fosters dialogue and cooperation between Italy and Japan through an immersive experience that combines artificial intelligence, innovative language teaching methods, and various forms of artistic expression. Visitors will engage in interactive workshops, multimedia installations, and presentations of cutting-edge research projects, including RePAIR, CHANGES, and iNEST. The initiative aims to forge meaningful connections and deepen the cultural bond between the two nations while contributing to the preservation and enhancement of cultural heritage from a modern perspective.
