What is this project about?

Action Research Zero is the first attempt to apply Hosokawa Hideo’s “activity-based” class model (Hosokawa 2008) to zero beginners in Japanese language outside of Japan. In an “activity-based” class, learners set a theme of interest to themselves and engage in repeated dialogues with others about it, aiming to acquire the language while deepening their awareness of the theme (Mariotti & Ichishima 2022). The output of the workshop proved as solid base for the development of NoLBrick concept for foreign language education beyond levels.
