What is this project about?

Founded in 2008, BunpoHyDict is the first experiment of an e-learning system of the Japanese language for Italian native speakers. It consists in a hypermedia dictionary of Japanese grammar, in which entries are arranged alphabetically, linked to each other and explained within everyday situations.

The BunpoHyDict project is extremely innovative in that it is designed for Italian native speakers and uses materials taken from contemporary Japanese culture: films, comics, advertisements, SMS, so as to guarantee a pleasant and up-to-date approach to the grammatical issues dealt with.

BunpoHyDict takes the form of an online tool in which the user can click on grammar items of their choice: an image or other media content will be shown, and an initial translation and a series of examples are provided.

The BunpoHyDict site is not open access at present; however, the password for access can be obtained by sending an e-mail to Prof. Marcella Mariotti or by requesting it on the Language Laboratory at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
