In February 2020, just as the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic was right around the corner, prof. Marcella Mariotti and dr. Takuya Kojima founded yet another outcome of NoLBrick: the NoLBrick Research Seminar. Although its institutionalization was carried out in early 2020, the basic elements for a NoLBrick Seminar were already there since mid 2019: preparing a team of facilitators for The 23rd Association of Japanese Language Teachers in Europe (AJE) Symposium in Belgrade required constant meetings, working together closely and receiving and sharing feedback with one another.

This is what stands as the foundation of the Seminar: a safe space where people interested in researching (Japanese) Language Education can share their thoughts, plans and research works with each other, while also observing and studying NoLBrick critical and transformative approach to language pedagogy.

The Seminar was held during the second semester of A.Y. 2019/2020, and has recently resumed after a break for A.Y. 2021/2022.
